Equality Objectives Statement
At Dunn Street Primary School, we are committed to ensuring equality of education and opportunity for all pupils, staff, parents, and guardians irrespective of race, gender, disability, belief, religion or socio-economic background. We aim to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which all those connected to the school feel proud of their identity and able to participate fully in school life. The achievement of pupils will be monitored on all protected grounds and we will use this data to support pupils, raise standards and ensure inclusive teaching.
Our school believes that diversity is a strength, which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn, teach, and visit here. We are dedicated to improving the equality of opportunity for under-represented groups and to tackling discrimination identified in the Equality Act 2010 through both our school practices and engagement with parents and the community. This commitment means we strive to remove barriers and open up opportunities for all, ensuring that every child and adult can achieve their potential and enjoy a fulfilling school experience.
We recognise that achieving our equality objectives will require the participation and support of the whole school community and we are committed to working with our pupils, their families, and staff to do this effectively. Through our policies and practices, we aim to foster a positive and inclusive environment where everyone is treated with respect and dignity. Every member of our school community is valued highly and respected, irrespective of their background or personal characteristics.
